Lighting of Lamp during Deepavali...
Lamps made of clay from Earth, available to all, owned by all;
denoting the commonality of emotions and equality in celebration, dispelling the delusion of difference and discrimination;
Wick made of cotton- the lightest and most ancient of natural plant fibres, available and affordable to all; denoting that to 'light' the lamp of knowledge within, to dispel the darkness of ignorance, one needs to be 'light' and 'organic' within;
‘Sesame Oil’ from the most humble and tolerant plant which can survive the harshest drought; the oldest domesticated oil seed crop known to mankind- Sesamum-
denoting ‘humility and tolerance’ are virtues and the greatest source and strength, that fuels the lamp of ‘self-knowledge’ that illuminates the soul from within;
‘Deepa- Aavali' meaning the 'Row of Lamps'-
Let's light one each within and without, standing together enlightened,
as one kind, one species, one nation, one planet;
One Soul and as Collective Consciousness;
Unified in Yoga of truth and unconditional love.
The day when Earth matches the beauty of a star lit sky with Lamps of Celebration.
